Meet Dr. Joseph W. Stobbe Jr

Dr. Joseph W. Stobbe Jr., DMD, MAGD, has dedicated over 40 years to perfecting his craft in Salt Lake City, Utah. As a Master in the Academy of General Dentistry (the highest honor a general dentist can achieve), Dr. Stobbe has built his career on unparalleled expertise across every aspect of dental care. His commitment to excellence began with his service as a U.S. Navy veteran and continues today through ongoing continuing education that keeps him at the forefront of the latest dental techniques and technologies. With decades of dedicated practice and advanced training, Dr. Stobbe has developed a depth of knowledge and skill that sets him apart.


Dr. Stobbe’s approach to dentistry extends far beyond the operatory. For the past four years, he has volunteered his time at Primary Children’s Medical Center in Salt Lake City, giving back to the community he has served for decades. His leadership in the profession is evident through his roles as past President and current Continuing Education Coordinator for the Utah Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Stobbe doesn’t just practice dentistry, he actively shapes its future in Utah and mentors the next generation of dental professionals.


Outside the office, Dr. Stobbe lives a rich and fulfilling life. Together with his wife Cleo, he has raised seven sons and now delights in spending time with their 18 grandchildren. He finds joy in tending his garden, exploring Southern Utah’s hiking trails, playing golf, birdwatching, and capturing nature through his camera lens. Dr. Stobbe maintains active involvement in numerous professional organizations, including the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, the American Orthodontic Society, the Utah Dental Association, and the Academy of LDS Dentists. His Fellowship in the AGD, received in 2007, and his Mastership, awarded in 2011, represent the pinnacle of achievement in general dentistry.
