Full Arch Replacement Solutions

What Are All on X Dental Implants?

All on X dental implants replace an entire arch of missing teeth using just four to six strategically placed implants to support a full set of fixed teeth. This innovative technique allows you to receive a complete new smile in fewer appointments with less healing time than traditional implant methods. Canyon Rim Dental in Salt Lake City provides All on X solutions that restore your entire upper or lower arch with maximum stability and comfort.

The “X” refers to the number of implants used (typically 4, 5, or 6), which are angled to maximize contact with available bone and avoid the need for bone grafting in most cases. Your new teeth are attached to these implants, creating a permanent, non-removable solution that functions like natural teeth.

Your Complete Smile Solution Explained

Who Are All-on-X Dental Implants For?

Missing most or all of your teeth doesn’t mean you have to settle for loose, uncomfortable dentures that limit your life. You might be perfect for All-on-X dental implants if you want a complete set of fixed teeth that never come out and function like natural teeth.

Complete or Near-Complete Tooth

Loss You're missing most or all of your teeth in one or both arches and want a permanent, non-removable solution that restores full function and confidence.

Denture Frustration

Your current dentures slip, cause sore spots, or make eating and speaking difficult, and you want a stable, fixed alternative that stays in place permanently.

Failing Remaining Teeth

Your remaining teeth are severely damaged, loose, or painful, and you're facing extraction of multiple teeth followed by the best possible replacement option.

Frequently Asked Questions

All-on-X Dental Implants FAQs

All-on-X implants provide full arch restoration using strategically placed implants to support an entire row of teeth. At Canyon Rim Dental, you’ll receive this revolutionary treatment that can transform your smile and restore complete function in minimal time.

What are All-on-X dental implants?

All-on-X is an innovative procedure that supports a full arch of teeth (upper or lower) using just four to six strategically placed dental implants. The “X” represents the number of implants used – typically All-on-4 or All-on-6. This technique maximizes available bone and provides immediate stability, often allowing you to receive temporary teeth the same day as implant placement.
Traditional full arch replacement might require 8-10 individual implants, while All-on-X uses only 4-6 implants positioned at optimal angles to maximize support. This approach often eliminates the need for bone grafting, reduces treatment time, and is more cost-effective than placing individual implants for each missing tooth while still providing excellent stability and function.
All-on-X is ideal for patients missing most or all teeth in one or both arches, those with failing teeth that need extraction, or people struggling with loose, uncomfortable dentures. Even patients with some bone loss may be candidates since the angled implant placement maximizes use of available bone. We’ll evaluate your bone density and oral health to determine if you’re a good candidate.
Yes! One of the major advantages of All-on-X is the ability to provide immediate temporary teeth, often called “teeth in a day.” These temporary teeth allow you to eat soft foods and smile confidently while your implants heal. After 3-6 months of healing, you’ll receive your final, permanent restoration that’s even stronger and more beautiful.
The initial surgical appointment typically takes 3-4 hours per arch. You’ll leave with temporary teeth the same day in most cases. The complete process takes 4-6 months from start to finish, with the majority of this time being healing periods. Your final restoration appointment involves replacing the temporary teeth with your permanent, custom-crafted prosthesis.
All-on-4 uses four implants per arch and is suitable for most patients with adequate bone density. All-on-6 uses six implants, providing additional support and stability, which may be recommended for patients with softer bone, heavy bite forces, or those who want maximum security. We’ll recommend the best option based on your specific anatomy and needs.
All-on-X implants feel much more secure and natural than traditional dentures. They’re fixed in place, so there’s no slipping, clicking, or need for adhesives. You can eat most foods with confidence, speak clearly without worry, and smile without concern about your teeth moving. Many patients say they feel like they have their natural teeth back.
During the initial healing phase with temporary teeth, you’ll need to stick to softer foods. Once your final restoration is placed, you can eat most foods with confidence, including many that were difficult with traditional dentures like apples, corn on the cob, and steak. Your chewing efficiency will be dramatically improved compared to removable dentures.
Cleaning your All-on-X restoration requires special attention since it’s fixed in place. We’ll teach you techniques using interdental brushes, water flossers, and special floss threaders to clean around and under the prosthesis. Regular professional cleanings are essential to maintain the health of your gums and implants. Proper care ensures long-term success.
With proper care and maintenance, All-on-X implants can last 15-25 years or longer. The implants themselves may last a lifetime, while the prosthetic teeth may need replacement after 10-15 years due to normal wear. This longevity makes All-on-X an excellent long-term investment compared to traditional dentures that need frequent adjustments and replacements.

They were amazing for me as a new patient! Staff were very warm and friendly and clear with communication. They have an intake survey that asks what they can do to make dental work more comfortable for you and your level of dental anxiety, which is awesome! I’m very glad to have found this place 🙂

I loved all of the staff. There were very kind and understanding. They let me know in details that I could understand as well as answered various questions I had. It had been at least two years since seeing a dentist and I was looking for one I could see since I got a new insurance. I also went in for a suspected cavity I may have had due to some pain that I was having for over a month. They checked as well as told me I needed to have a root canal procedure. They told me after they got some of it done that they still have some more time for me to finish the temporary crown until the final part. I really appreciate this

I have been a terrible adult and neglected finding a dentist since I left the Kent, WA area in 2016 (don’t tell my wonderful dentist there he would be so disappointed in me) Shor story is it’s now 2025 and I wish I would have search sooner. DR. SAM DELAHUNTY performed a what felt to me like a complex root canal therapy for me today in not only a professional manner and expedient manner but also with kindness and care that you really want when people are drilling around sensitive nerves. He answered any questions I had and even followed up later with me in the evening. I have plenty more work for their team ( don’t neglect your teeth cleanings kids) and i am nothing but excited to return for the offices services. I wish i would have caught the names of all the staff in the office they are always so friendly. Cannot recommend this office more.
