What is CEREC® same-day crown technology?

CEREC® (Chairside Economical Restorations of Esthetic Ceramic) is an advanced system that designs, creates, and places your custom crown in a single appointment. Using digital scanning and computer-aided design, we can mill your crown from high-quality ceramic while you wait, eliminating the need for messy impressions, temporary crowns, and return visits.
The main difference is timing and convenience. Traditional crowns require multiple appointments over 2-3 weeks, with temporary crowns in between. Same-day crowns are completed in about 2 hours during one visit. The quality, durability, and appearance are essentially the same – you just get your permanent crown immediately instead of waiting weeks.
The entire process typically takes 1.5-2.5 hours from start to finish. This includes tooth preparation, digital scanning, crown design, milling, and final placement. You can read, listen to music, or relax while your crown is being created. Many patients appreciate being able to complete their treatment in one convenient appointment.
Yes! CEREC® crowns are made from the same high-quality ceramic materials as laboratory crowns and offer equivalent strength and durability. The computer-controlled milling process actually ensures very precise fit and consistent quality. Same-day crowns can last 15+ years with proper care, just like traditional crowns.

Same-day crowns are typically priced competitively with traditional crowns. Most teeth that need crowns are excellent candidates for same-day treatment. You’ll have to forgive me cause I can’t do names, but the doctor and all his staff are amazing. The hygienist we see is wonderful and thorough and even has a great sense of humor, the doctor is so gentle and his work really seems to be holding up, and even the assistant we usually see is an absolute delight. Not to mention the receptionist, we could chat for hours. No issues with their fillings, and the experience was far less painful than I’ve had anywhere else. I really love going to this place, 10/10 recommend
